Although the Covid-19 situation is seeing little improvement in Peru, the Church continues to be a beacon of hope in the community, reaching out with the Gospel, and sharing His mercy with those in need.
During the past few months, Vicar Elvis Carrera has worked together with Missionary Pastors Walterson Siewert and Osmel Soliz, providing worship services, Bible studies, and other encouragement online. Clergy and able-bodied congregation members have worked tirelessly to put together and distribute food baskets for the hungry across the city. Vicar Carrera’s wife, Alba, even hosted an online art class for some creative fun.

Recently, the members in Los Olivos have had a welcome diversion; the preparation of a much-needed new building. This larger structure, which is only about half a mile from the old one, will serve as an excellent worship facility. With ample space for Bible classes, dinners, and congregational events it will function as multi-purpose gathering place for the Los Olivos Church.
Plans for Vicar Elvis’ ordination in June were put on hold due to the pandemic. Now with the cleaning, painting, and decorating nearly complete, the congregation is eagerly anticipating the ordination of Elvis and the dedication of the new worship facility. We hope and pray that these blessed events will happen in the very near future.
