Santa Ortiz, the pastor’s wife of a Lutheran congregation near the capital of the Dominican Republic, describes her church’s need for more members willing to serve the church as deaconesses. Through the instruction provided by missionary deaconesses, these future deaconesses in the Dominican Republic and throughout Latin America will learn to “serve by showing mercy to others, teaching the gospel and building up Christ’s family of believers.” We ask that you prayerfully consider financially supporting diaconal formation by giving to our deaconess missionaries.
