Today we come to you from the fieldin India at Concordia Theological Seminary, Nagercoil, India. We joined the seminary community in order to celebrate a number of renovations made to the campus as a result of damage caused by the Ockhi cyclone November 2017. The Lutheran Church — Missouri Synod (LCMS) Disaster Response team stepped in to help with the restoration of the campus.
The Rev. Dr. Sam Thompson, a professor at the seminary as well as project manager for the recovery efforts, joined the podcast to talk about the work that has been done and the opportunities for the seminary as a result of the work.
To learn more about the work and the work of LCMS Disaster Response in India, visit the CTSN website. A short summary of the trip in March 2018 is also available here. Thompson also wrote about the work in Phase II. Concordia Historical Institutehas also been helping the seminary restore its archivesas well. I also shared a longer update on the Askins in Asia website as well.
Finally, if you have any questions, please send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you.
