The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod has supported the work in The Gambia since 2001. The LCMS helped to facilitate a partnership between the Lutheran Church of Nigeria (LCN) and Gambian Christians. The LCMS currently has a part-time missionary working with Christians in The Gambia and partners in medical mercy work.
