COVID-19 relief grant to the CELC-SL helps to bring hope to the church and communities
The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod has supported work in Sierra Leone since 1983. The LCMS is currently working with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Sierra Leone (CELC-SL) to continue the training of pastoral candidates at the Coordinating Center for Theological Training in Jembe.

This project supports students enrolled in pastoral studies at the Coordinating Center for Theological Studies (CCTS) which prepares pastors for service in Sierra Leone and Liberia.
In May, an LCMS Mercy Medical Team traveled to Sierra Leone for the first time, bringing physical healing and the Word of God.
