The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod has supported work in Togo since 1980. The Lutheran Church of Togo is a partner church of the LCMS. The LCMS currently supports the Lutheran Center for Theological Studies (CLET) located in Dapaong. The CLET trains pastoral candidates from the French-speaking countries of Togo, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Benin, Burkina Faso, Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The LCMS is also supporting the development of a Lutheran Day School in Dapaong.

LCMS missionaries to West Africa participate in a Baptism and confirmation service at Djepiéni, Togo
The Lutheran Center for Theological Studies (Centre Luthérien d’Études Théologiques) in Dapaong, Togo serves as a regional seminary for the French-speaking countries of West and Central Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Republic of Congo and Togo.
The Lutheran Church of Togo (ELT) is, in large measure, a National Church located predominantly in rural areas of northern Togo, West Africa.
The Lutheran Church in Togo desires to conduct mission outreach, establish a Lutheran presence, and plant a church in Kara, a city centrally located within this narrow nation.
A literacy project in northern Togo receives support from the LCMS.
For the first time, the Synod sends a Mercy Medical Team to West Africa.
