The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod began work in South Africa in 1982. Today, the LCMS celebrates full altar and pulpit fellowship with two church bodies in South Africa – the Lutheran Church in Southern Africa (LCSA) and the Free Evangelical Lutheran Church in South Africa (FELSiSA) – and provides financial support and short-term professors in support of pastoral formation through the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Tshwane/Pretoria.

IELB, in partnership with the LCMS, has called eight pastors to serve as alliance missionaries
Ten students graduate from the Lutheran Theological Seminary (LTS) in Tshwane, and Rev. Winterle says goodbye.
The new seminary library was dedicated at the LTS on September 7, 2019.
Six senior students graduate with a certificate in theological studies.
LTS fills an important niche in preparing men for ministry all through Africa.
