The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) has supported work in Angola since 1997 in a partnership with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brazil (IELB). Today the LCMS-IELB work in Angola is also supported by the German Bleckmar Mission (also known as the Mission of Lutheran Churches) focused on pastoral formation through intensive courses and periodic visits.
